- There is a shortage of nearly 750 Foster Carers in Wales alone. In March 2009, there were 4705 looked after children and young people in Wales and 77% of these lived with Foster Carers.

How to find Independent Foster Care Services
Directions (approaching Cardiff from M4 East).
Leave the M4 at junction 29 (signposted Cardiff E and S) and join the A48(M) motorway. Follow the A48 towards Cardiff (signposted City Centre).
Branch left when you see signposts for Dock, Cardiff East, then at the roundabout take the 1st exit onto Southern Way - A4161 (signposted Docks, Cardiff East).
Keep to the left and at the roundabout take the 1st exit onto the B4487 (signposted Rumney, Llanrumney), turn right onto New Road and follow this road until you see a turning right onto Mardy Road - B4239 then turn left onto Spring Meadow Road.
Solva House, Independent Foster Care Services office, is on the left as you enter the Spring Meadow Business Park.
Directions (approaching Cardiff from M4 West).
Leave the M4 at junction 32 (signposted Cardiff N), Merthyr Tydfil, then at the roundabout take the 4th exit, then merge onto Northern Avenue - A470 (signposted Cardiff N) entering Cardiff.
Follow the A470 to Cardiff, at the last set of traffic lights, as you enter
the large roundabout, keep left, follow the road around and then
bear left (signposted City Centre) keeping the fly over to your
right.
At the roundabout take the 1st exit (signposted
University Hospital), bear right, then join the A48. Take the left
exit (signposted Docks, Cardiff East), then at roundabout take
the 3rd exit onto Southern Way - A4161 (signposted Docks, Cardiff
East).
