- The Fostering Network states Foster Carers need better financial recognition
- Since 1997 the total number of children in Wales looked after by foster carers and in residential care increased by 50%.
- There is a shortage of nearly 750 Foster Carers in Wales alone. In March 2009, there were 4705 looked after children and young people in Wales and 77% of these lived with Foster Carers.

IFCS are based in Cardiff, South Wales, if you need directions just go to our directions page.
Conference Facilities
IFCS has high quality Conference facilities, suitable for a range of uses such as training, presentations and general meetings.
The
facilities are particularly suitable for Child Protection Conferences
as they have an informal Family Room alongside, for private consultations
with parents and other family members.
The main conference room can be comfortably arranged for 16 persons around a conference table, or for 25 persons sitting in a semi-circle or in rows for training or presentations.
The main conference room also has white-boards, a large projector screen, and a projector for laminate, power point, or video or DVD presentations.
All facilities within IFCS are accessible for persons of all needs and abilities.
Local Authorities will not be charged for using the above facilities for the purposes of meetings in respect of children and young people in foster care with IFCS. For all other purposes the Conference facilities will be charged at the rate of £100.00 per half day. For Child Protection Conferences there will be no further charge for the use of the adjoining Family Room.
